As example, 33lb bag of Innova, considered to be a Premium dog food is $34.95 in these parts - over $1.00 a pound But, I can get most Raw meaty bones for about 49 cents a lb...sometimes more but this is an average for me. Organ meats on sale and smart shopping helps too. Chicken leg quarters are only 39 cents a pound a walMart...it all averages out but is much cheaper and besides that, you save on Vet bills too.
