I was on the Task Force to develop USLCA if anyone has any questions that are not answered on the FAQ web site. It is very exciting we have our own US affiliate for ILCA now!!

Please, if you have the time, I have some questions about the USLCA. When are we going to hear what happened at the meeting on May 8? How will communication occur; will we keep receiving emails or will something go out in snail mail? Since you happen to be in Texas, I am curious if you are aware of the bill being drafted to license IBCLCs in Texas. If USLCA is working on licensure, as well, when can we expect this to take place?

Has any progress been made on the idea of providing liability insurance to members of USLCA? Can we expect the price to be any different than what Marsh charges?

Was there any communication between ILCA and IBLCE regarding the second credential? It seems strange that the IBLCE decided to 'open up' the profession at nearly the same time as the licensure issue was being explored. Does this mean that the second credential will also be licensed? Do you have any idea when we might get more details on that credential, itself?

Sometimes things sneak by me, too, Lyla! Too many emails and more work than can be done in the amount of time there is to do it can result in my too quickly scanning emails before I hit the delete button. I need a secretary. Actually, I also need a team of research assistants, statisticians, and editorial staff. Then I might be able to delegate some of this work and make faster progress! At least I am never bored and I have work I love to do. Some problems are good ones. : )
