They are found in seeds and nuts, and the oils extracted from them. Refined vegetable oils, such as soy oil, are used in most of the snack foods, cookies, crackers, and sweets in the American diet as well as in fast food. Soybean oil alone is now so ubiquitous in fast foods and processed foods that an astounding 20 percent of the calories in the American diet are estimated to come from this single source. " 20% of US calories from soybean oil? Wow!
Guest guest
Dr. Weil is a well respected physician who specializes in alternative medicines. I have been trying to read his " Eating Well for Optimal Health, " but life tends to get in the way Gettin Older > > > > > >>Philip: > > >> > > >>Thank you for that interesting link! > > >> > > >>Are there any Omega 6/3 fatty acids supplements that are 100% > from > > >>fish oil? > > > > Thanks. Guest guest
This is one of the most frustrating things in the world of trying to to the right things for your health! Dr days avoid flax, Dr Weil says eat flax. The advice on soy is contradictory ad well. Are there any Omega 6/3 fatty acids supplements that are 100% from fish oil? Thanks. That said the 6/3 ratio is recommended by others. It's just this guy uses it to peddle his books and supplements. Guest guest
It is frustrating, I agree. One thing I can tell you is, I started taking 1 g/day of Omega 3 fatty acids (300 mg of actual acids) since the end of last year and I feel much better with respect to my allergies and my skin. True I have been receiving allergy shots for more than 3 years, but with the exception of this year, I had not been able to go outside during Spring, Summer or Fall without being misserable. This year, a totally different story!!! I can go out, sit down and read books, work in the yard, play with my daughter, etc. without worrying about allergies. I do not believe the allergy shots are the only reason for my improvement since the shots have nothing related to pollen (mainly molds). Something else is preventing my body from overreacting when exposed to pollen and grasses. The only difference is I started the Omega 3 supplements in December 06. All my other supplements remained the same. Flaco > > Philip: > > Thank you for that interesting link! > > Are there any Omega 6/3 fatty acids supplements that are 100% > from > fish oil? > > Thanks.
