Seeing as how 's (promising research ) prompting me, I'll

let you know what we've been doing !!

We had our first chat about the convention on 18/19 March and set

some targets - November 2003 in Orlando (however, since the chat we

have found out that there is a worldwide DS gathering in the far east

in November 2003, so we may need to re-examine that). Seven people

out of the 35 that registered an interest joined in and different

people were tasked to find out various things before we meet again.

I have copied Bree into the chat and she has said that she will

promote the convention on the NMDSA website shortly - so watch this

space. Those that have registered an interest have been copied into

the chat and other e-mails that are flying about. If you are

interested and have not yet registered, please let me know

whereabouts you live so that we can work out a costed plan for the

convention.

Before we look for sponsors, however, the NMDSA needs to be

registered as a non-profit making organisation. This costs $500 in

the USA but is free in Australia !! Anyway, that's the sticking point

at the moment (where to register) and we'll be discussing that at our

next chat.

I'll post a time and date like last time shortly. We'd love to see

more people join in next time. Certainly the enthusiasm of those that

did join in was brilliant !!

If anyone has any expertise in organising anything like this, then

please come forward. We'd be glad to hear from anyone with ideas.

PS had a heart scan the other week and the results show that

she has now finally got the all clear from the hospital last week and

has been signed off their books. At last !!
