Workout 7 of 12: Chest and Triceps with Noel

Chest and Triceps are always a welcome workout for me.  At 34 DDD naturally and flab under my arms of course I am always ready to go up in chest and triceps whenever possible. Both areas need as much muscular support they can get!

When I walked out of the locker room ready to work out I stomped to the empty front desk.  Mostly not being able to run in the Valentine 8K I paid for was on my mind.  My hip is still sore so more than likely I will have to walk the 5K instead of running the 8K.  This really upsets me.  I am healthy and fit but running just seems to disagree with me.  If it isn't with shin splints or a wonky knee, it's this fussy hip!

Noel called me on this, asking me why I was walking so fast and with attitude.  I must admit I don't know 100% why, maybe it's because he wasn't there when I was ready to start but mostly I think it's because I'm pissed that I'm injured and I finally replied, " I have kinesio tape on my hip; it's part of my new swagga!' I also accused him of treating me with kid gloves because of my injury because I wasn't sore in legs or shoulders from Tuesday, and I'm ALWAYS sore on leg day. I feel if I'm not sore I'm not getting my $'s worth.  I'm also a bit of a masochist so I really do like healthy pain (just not injurious pain like my hip)

We did the usual chest and tricep machines.  Noel said he was hard core dieting and I asked what that consisted of and it was a banana first thing in the morning, then chicken and rice three times, then a steak at night.  The maternal side of me scolded him for not eating any veggies, as those are mostly free calories.  He said he didn't have time and it's true he works 7 days a week but still you can by pre-prepared veggies at the store.... I'm  just a huge proponent of veggies, when I eat them I feel more energized!!  They taste great, and are freebies to me, calorie wise so why not eat as many of them as you want, provided it's not something fattening like avocado or olives!

TANGENT:  I offer to help people prepare healthy snacks and meals for the week on Sundays an no one has taken me up on  it, they conitnue to eat out every day at work for lunch or eat crap food.   This is another gripe of mine:  if you're upset with your weight then quit complaining and DO something! I offer to help and you refuse my help.  I'm done.  You have to do it for yourself and come to your own realizations.   Sometimes I feel like the life of a Health and Fitness person is a lonely journey. Only 10% of Americans are truly committed to this lifestyle.

For the second week in a row I saw this really hunky firefighter at the gym who had an " in memory of " shirt on.  I don't know much about other than she is a local who had a long hard battle with cancer and lost.  He had the same shirt on again.  I asked Noel at chest machine #4, " How come you don't set me up with that hunky firefighter?   That is an ultimate fantasy of mine, as is any woman " s "

Noel replied that he is a widow, and that was his wife. GULP!  Foot in mouth moment!  I did not know!!  So we did the usual machines and I did feel the pump this time, I'm pretty sure I'll be sore tomorrow.

Noel kept asking me what I was doing tonite, tomorrow nite,etc.  When I left he invited me over to his place on Super Bowl Sunday along with the rest of the gym crowd for a party at his place, to just bring something to eat.  I am so there!  I've never been to a Super Bowl Party in my life and I know just the right food and beverage to bring, all bodybuilder friendly :)
