x-post: another in vitro question

the same mom i posted about yesterday has another question. for 12 days

after embryo transfer she is forbidden to have intercourse. i told her to

ask the docs if this was a mechanical (penetration) safety issue or a

hormonal (uterine contraction) safety issue for implantation. She did and

they said it was the latter. Does nursing an 18 month old cause uterine

contractions? is there the same surge of oxytocin as in the early

weeks? somehow i doubt it, but then again, how does let-down work if

not? feeling a bit stupid about this issue - biochemistry was definitely

not my favorite part of the exam! Any tips would be appreciated!
