Guest guest
, See what you think... My husbands ALK was around 250 for the first two years after his first bleed and signs of cirrhosis, and it's NEVER budged, even though he was doing better. Within the last 6 months, however, it's dropped to 180, 150, and now it's down to 127 (near normal range). From what I understand, it's an enzyme released from the liver or bones when there is damaged tissue. Could this mean there is some kind of significant healing going on? I know once it's scar tissue, it's dead. Is this just a sign of the compensated cirrhosis? Most everthing else is near normal (AST, SGOT), the only ones that are still off to a degree are platlets and clotting time, but even those are getting better. I was just curious what you thought, and since I know you've been doing well also, what your numbers have been in the past, and if you had similar results. We don't go back to U of M until October, so it'll be a while before we can ask them. Donna
