Guest guest
, I know what you are going through. a was 2 months old before a doctor mentioned anything to us although later I found out the nursey nurses had questions about it. At least your doctor was honest. Lex's doctor took my ex-husband out of the room and mentioned something about her eyes and that we should get a second opinion. As if he was too scared to tell me. I thought she had a vision problem and had no clue until I took her on base and a military doctor said we should have chromosome testing done. I went home not thinking twice about it and then said " chromosome testing " . I went back and demanded they tell me completely what was up. That is when they were honest. Two weeks later her tests came back. My first thought was guilt and I handed her to my mother...only to grab her back and say " well now I must do everything in my power for her. " God gives these special angels to people He knows will love and nurture them. I am so happy to say she is doing extremely well now. She is five and in kindergarten. Knows her numbers, lettters, months of the year, and days of the week. She is also learning sign language from the other children in her class. She is truly a remarkable person and I wouldn't trade her for anything else in the world. If Dylan's test come back DS, there are so many services and people to help him on his way. Look into Early Intervention Programs. Lex started in the services at 4 months of age. To help pay for her services (if you are military) I enrolled her in Champus (not sure it exists as that name now) for the Handicapped and it paid 80% of her therapies. I know how much of a hassle the military can be. Been there Done that...and glad its over:) (mom to a, 5) ____________________________________________________________________ Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=
