Yeast Test Question

We have done three Organic Acid Profiles with Great Plains over the

past six months which indicated the following arabinose values:

88.11

98.45

152.22

Recently, we also did a Yeast Profile, Stool which indicated NO

yeast. Does anyone know why yeast is present in the OAT but not the

stool?

Thanks,

Sara

It's my understanding that stool tests are less accurate because they only

represent a snapshot in time. Urine tests are considered to be more reliable

in indicating the presence of yeast.

Does your child have abnormal bowel movements (constipation or diarrhea)

that might indicate yeast?

Lynne,

Yes, has been constipated ever since I can remember! This is

our first bout with yeast which started after a round of antibiotics

last summer. We have tried Ampotericin B, Diflucan, Nystatin, in

addition to an almost yeast free, sugar free (except for some

fruits) diet but her OAT value continues to get higher. Our Doc.

suggested the stool test because he said it would identify exactly

what yeast we were dealing with and give us an idea as to what anti-

fungal to try next. But since the stool was negative, I'm not sure

what the next step is. Any thoughts?
