Guest guest
Perhaps we need to do some planning and strategizing off-list? What are your opinions on this, everyone? Also, for those who can't attend, why not set up a webcast? I like the idea of a retreat somewhere, but I'm not familiar with any that have what we want. I will make a few inquiries to those in the know. Liz
Guest guest
I wonder if we could get people/organisations, whatever, to donate excess airmiles? Re: Planning a Gathering (Was Winona's frustration/taking action) Further ideas re the cost aspect: if there is a " planning " or preliminary gathering, and if it is done under the umbrella of a nonprofit, there might be the possibility of treating travel expenses as a charitible donation - just as you can claim mileage for volunteer work. Any CPA parents on this list? On airline costs - again, we need to link with an airline PR person or higher up. Given our numbers, we know there are parents of children with ASD working for airlines. The good PR from aiding with travel expenses will appeal to some company. Wings for Little Angels has already done some leg work on the issue of making flight more accessible - anyone here linked with that org? There are sooo many families across the country and the world concerned with the same issues as the members of this list that contacts and assistance will be found in every arena.
