Guest guest
Hi - I've lived in Fl.(very hot south Fl) for over 26 yrs. The heat has never affected my CMT. I do much better in the heat than the cold. Stress is what really affects me. Barb

Guest guest
My girlfriend who has a spinal cord injury cannot handle the heat at all; when she goes to the pool she only goes for an hour. Me on the other hand, I love it! I just wish people would not turn the air conditioning on so strong. I have to put blankets on my legs when it is 90 degrees outside! Guest guest
Two things I have tried when I get too hot and there's no air-conditioning relief in site: I go into the ladies' room and get my head and hair sopping wet under the cold water; repeat as necessary. Cooling off your head really helps. Another solution I tried at someone's suggestion was taking off my shirt and soaking it in water. When you put it back on, it feels refreshingly cool. This procedure also works better in the ladies' room, lol. Both solutions may cause other people to look at you strangely, but the comfort is worth it. Guest guest
Try taking ice cubes and just place them across the insides of your wrists. You will be surprised how this will cool down your whole body. Jackie
Guest guest
Hi, it's me again. Somehow my post got missed, but I would still like to know if worsening of symptoms in hot weather is common. Anybody? I actually read on Bee's homepage about humid, foggy weather, but I mean heat in general, also dry heat. Thank You, Pia > Hi, > do some of You get worse symptoms in hot weather? > I get that a lot and wanted to see if this is common. > Thank You, > Pia >

Some people react to different kinds of weather, even cold, hot, dry, humid, whatever, which appears to be individual and may be more related to emotional or mental connections to such weather. Cheers, Bee
