Guest guest
Jo-- There's no way that KT increases bad cholesterol. It does however detox the body, and products of the body that are being detoxed may be read as " present " when in fact they are being eliminated. I'm not medically trained, and this theory of detox is not my own, but it makes sense to me intuitively. But, perhaps you might be interested in the latest research which shows that the focus on cholesterol numbers may be misplaced. http://www.medicalconsumers.org/pages/cholesterol_skeptics.html I can't seem to find the article again, but I just saw an item that presented research showing that eating 2 eggs a day actually increases good cholesterol. Another example is that coconut oil was once deemed a bad fat, because it becomes solid at room temperature it was believed to block the arteries. However, it melts at below our body temperature... so it would never be solid inside our bodies, therefore would never block an artery. In fact, it's been proved to protect heart health, increase metabolism, etc. Anyway point being, you might want to consider whether the focus on your cholesterol levels is causing stress, which is indeed harmful to heart health, and whether it might warrant a reconsideration of the drugs you're taking. Depending on your circumstances, of course. But I keep seeing articles saying that the traditional understanding of cholesterol (upon which the drug-protocols are based) is wrong, and that the side effects and stress involved in the drug protocols may be doing more harm than good. The article I've linked to above states that: > led off with a slide showing the results of all the major clinical > trials that attempted to prove that lowering cholesterol in healthy but > high-risk people would reduce their death rate from heart disease. " The > reduced rates of cardiovascular mortality were small for men and > non-existent for women, " said Dr. Ravnskov, who is the author of The > Cholesterol Myths, a paperback that refutes the theory that cholesterol > in our food and in our blood causes heart disease. > >These cholesterol trials also looked at total mortality, that is, the >deaths from all causes, and found little difference between the study >participants who tried to lower their cholesterol and those who did not. >In other words, some clinical trials showed that the heart disease death >rates were, in fact, lower among men who had reduced their cholesterol >levels. Guest guest
I think the whole cholesterol thing is a hoax but if you are really concerned by mother has had great success with red yeast rice. I know there are many factors that can but don't fit into those. Has anyone noticed the same effect or have a plausable reason why KT would not do this. Don't want to stop drinking it altogether. I was drinking about 500 mls per day but have cut back a bit. Thank you KT members for being here :-) Jo

Guest guest
Thank you & all those that have answered this post so far I didn't think KT would make it higher and it has helped me with digestion so far + a few other changes I have made to diet. " But I keep seeing articles saying that the traditional understanding of cholesterol (upon which the drug-protocols are based) is wrong " Me too I read several before posting ? New Zealand reads cholesterol differently than USA & my total cholesterol reading was 7.8 the norm being around 5 but to my mind that is optimum for a healthy young person I am 59 so don't think this is too high! I have 3 months to get it lower myself before they start to try & persuade me to take drugs. Guest guest
Hi , I know people have reported that Kombucha lowered their Cholesterol especially when they made it with Pu-erh tea..... Can't recall anyone ever saying that their Cholesterol went up from using KT. I would doubt it.... Lots of people who become hypothyroid have one of the first signs as a rise in Cholesterol....might be worth checking out.... Guest guest
>Have come to think the last couple of years that they [doctors]try to >make you a regular customer > >Jo I think so too. It's gotten to where no one is healthy by their standards, everyone needs to be " managed " with their maintenance drugs. And probably people in general are less healthy than they could be, but we know for a fact health doesn't come from Big Pharma. Mitigation of symptoms, sometimes, even life-saving interventions at times. But health? No. So if you don't want to take the drugs, just simply say no. It's up to you. They might try to guilt trip you or say that they will wash their hands of you if you don't, but-- Just Say No! --V ~~~ There is no way to peace; peace is the way ~~~~ --A.J. Guest guest
Rusty-- I've been taking TMG and am really happy with the results. It's recommended for helping heal those cracks and ruptures in the vein walls. It also converts to SAM-E, which is why I'm taking it. --V ~~~ There is no way to peace; peace is the way ~~~~ --A.J. Guest guest
I would suggest you do some research into the cholesterol thing. Read the book " The Cholesterol Myths " by Dr. Ravnskov. There is other research on the web as well. Allyn ------------------------------------ PRIORITY INVESTMENTS N' KOLLATERAL,INC. ALLYN FERRIS PRESIDENT AFERRIS@... 4548A WEST VILLAGE DR. TAMPA, FL 33624 tel: fax: mobile: ------------------------------------ Re: Can KT increase your Bad Cholesterol >I have 3 months to get it lower myself before they start to try & persuade me to take drugs. - The protocol regarding Fats in the diet is that Fats per se do not raise cholesterol but Avoid Hydrogenated or Trans Fatty sources of fats, [Things that are unnaturally solidified at room temperature]. High Blood cholesterol is generally a result of the repair process as tiny cracks or ruptures in the vein walls are patched with blobs of cholesterol and calcium sticks to it and plaque build up begins. These vessel cracks are more often than not a result of drawing on insulin because of a diet too high in starches and sugars. It's very important to avoid SWEET FATS. Donuts, Ice Cream, etc. will add more LDL cholesterol to your veins than butter and cheeze. Toast and Jam and Orange Juice is a Bad Breakfast for causing LDL and diabetes but Bacon and Eggs, without the toast, is OK. To Lower the cholesterol take fats that contain Omega 3 fatty acids, lots of Vitamins E and C, and follow a diabetic's diet. Your LDL levels will steadily come down Drink all the KT you want and Lots of Water. 500 mg. of Magnesium per day will lubricate the blood cells and help them slip through the blockages lowering the possibility of stroke from your condition. I'd suggest two separate doses of 250 g., as higher magnesium intake may result in diarrhea. rusty Re: Can KT increase your Bad Cholesterol Thank you & all those that have answered this post so far I didn't think KT would make it higher and it has helped me with digestion so far + a few other changes I have made to diet. Guest guest
Thanks Rusty for info : I think my diet is already good and don't eat a lot of sweet foods, eat butter instead of marg and take 500mg vit c + a multi every day don't smoke or drink [except an odd glass of wine ] I know there is a hereditory factor maybe that's just the reason will try to walk it off :-) I could stand to loose 8 LBS or anyway Jo > > >I have 3 months to get it lower myself before they start to try & > persuade me to take drugs. > -
