Cola Pop, you WANT to be sore the next day!  You were building muscle!  Embrace the pain!  You were doing CLX the right way!!Thanks for cheering us on!  I have 5 CLX workouts to go but since i'm seeing Noel not sure I'll finish :/  bad me, but Noel is more effective even than CLX so I don't feel I'm cheating too much.

As much as I love Noel I do miss my kettlebells and videos and look forward to knocking more virgin workouts off the pile!  Hugs

carolyn,

hugs!! i have to say that i have not followed the chalean extreme program

completely--i do the three weight workouts every week but i have left cardio out

for the last month, lol. and sometimes i don't increase my weights but somehow

my body has changed a great deal. i'm sore on the days i push myself but like

yourself i can't have extreme doms--because i have so many other committments

that require me to function for my family. if you try it again do it your way!!

i'm just glad to be so close to actually completing an entire rotation and have

the results i have:)

in a couple of weeks i'll miss chalene--but will have tony and p90x for a few

months:) i am going to make the committment to the diet and full 6 days a week

workout program with p90x--curious what a ripped p90x stacey body will look like

and feel like to live in!!

pinky, i was awfully sore every day... it never went away.

im not as mentally tough as you... not being able to function

normally due to pain wears me down mentally and emotionally. i

really do not enjoy having severe doms like you do...LOLOL... i

just couldnt get anything else done (the job, the house, the

kids, the dog, the yard, blah blah blah)

Hi Carolyn!

I hear you - I never attempted to do CLX - although I did do some of the cardio workouts and enjoyed those. The weight workouts worry me b/c a lot of people have reported back pain with them - and I just don't want to go there. I think it is b/c of the forward leaning exercises. I tried doing Tony's P90 Masters Program in October and ended up with the worst attack of back pain I ever experienced and it lasted for weeks. I think it was b/c he also focused a lot on forward bending exercises.

I do, however, like the FIrm Express workouts - the 20 minute timeframe doesn't seem to aggravate my back -

I also feel like I will mostly be an "intermediate" exerciser, and I'm pretty good with that. I'm happy to get my long walks in, some occassionaly run/walks, etc. And. honestly, my body actually looks better to me when I focus more on these intermediate and gentle workouts than when I push it to the limits - pushing to the limits tends to make me really puffy and bloated, and even if it is temporary, I hate the feeling. Best results for me generally come from endurance style workouts and a lot of body-weight, Pilates style.

Take care! Don't feel alone about CLX - we all have different bodies and goals - most important thing to do is keep active and be happy!Donna

> i did lc2 last night:) tough shoulder workout!! 7 more to go--i should be done with chalean extreme in two weeks.stacey and laura and jen -- ive been reading your CLX reports with such envy!when i tried to do a chalean rotation, i felt like i was dying. i mean that i could do the workouts with no problems, i could increase the weights appropriately and was progressing in all areas (could do all of the pushups on my toes, etc), but my whole body was extremely sore every single day. i made it about halfway into phase 2 (push) and was using weights only up to 20 lbs, each hand.i was even adding on my own warmups and cooldowns/stretches to the workouts, and would take outdoor walks afterward as well, to further loosen up the legs... also hot baths and epsom salts! i also tried to eat better and took my vitamins, etc. eventually i just couldnt

take it any more and could not face having pain for 4 months of the rotation until i finally got to the maintenance phase. the doms was really incapacitating (or was it joint pain? ugh, i really just dont know what was wrong and it really bothers me.)i had to be able to function in the rest of my life, so i stopped the rotation. i even stopped working out all together for quite a while after that and concentrated more on biking and walking which boosted my CLX-battered morale. now, im back to doing intermediate workouts again, which is where i will probably stay forever.so please know that im reading your posts and cheering for you with a "i wish i could do that!":*carolyn.

I understand that feeling! I just started exercising heavily last fall because I

was afraid I would end up weak and frail like my mother. I've seen a lot of

changes in myself, both mind and body, since then that I'm excited to think of

what I may become!

Things I used to dread because they wore me out are now trivial, and I don't

have the chronic fatigue I used to have! My chronic back, wrist and foot pain

have receded quite a bit!! I've lost 15 pounds since then, not exactly dieting,

but being more conscience of what goes into this body, and the effort it takes

to get it off again.

I keep thinking of how I might look/feel by summer! It's a new feeling for this

old body (young spirit)!!
