Guest guest
What district?Sent from my iPhone I had my son't ARD meeting last week and am so furious that I needed a few days to cool down before I could even attempt to post my question/venting. The school committee says that all decisions are a committee effort and that a parent's input is also used to make an ultimate decision. I have found that is NOT the case. I told the committee that I did not feel that my son would get the same education that he is getting from his current school placement. They however feel that my son is "ready" to go back to his "home school" which is a public school. I visited this school and I just don't think that my son will receive the same instruction that he had been receiving at his current school. I voiced my opinion and the outcome is the "committee" (which I, the parent is a part of) said that he WILL be returning to the public school in August. There will be a transition this summer between both EYS school programs. I am very frustrated as I am sure most parents are and have been with their children's ARD meetings. They should be up front and tell the parent "you can voice your opinion but that is all it will be is just an opinion and WE will make our decision anyway". My question is, can they really do this if the parent does not think that is the best choice? Thanks for letting me vent..... Marisa
Guest guest
You don't have to sign the ARD paperwork if you disagree. They have to have your signature to make it legal.
