Hi all,

Well, I blew up at the ARD today. My child has documneted physical brain

development problems ( functional MRI) that affect language. We have testing

from the school district, a developmental pediatrician, speech therapist,

neurologist, etc that shows he has language processing deficits. Yet, today,

when I showed them some homeowrk that could not be complated as written, the

teacher said, " oh I told the kids to change that " . I said he did not remember,

you have to write it down for him. She said, " No, he chooses not to remember " . I

LOST IT! I started reiterating the brain development deficits and their impact.

They denied I had ever shown them!! They said they couldn't help more because he

doesn't have an IEP. I said, that is because you refuse to create one for him.

At that point I was speaking loudly over the principal and standing up.

Anyway, I am sending them a letter stating that I remove all of my previous

approvals for his current " IEP " , requesting a new ARD, and requesting a time to

review all of the school's records they have on him.

I also want to consult with an advocate and possibly have one present at the

next ARD. I am in the Montgomery School District. Does anyone know of a good

advocate on the North side of Houston?

Thanks
