Guest guest
Maybe some of you want to share your concerns here: What are your areas of expertise? View web version | Send this message to a friend What do you know about? First a quick note: Thanks for being part of the Public Insight Network. Your willingness to share your experience and insights is a major reason that this approach to covering the news is spreading. More than 20 newsrooms are part of our growing network of partners, and many more are coming on line. Why should that matter to you? Well, the more newsrooms we connect to, the better the chance that the information you share with us will inform and influence journalism somewhere--be it at Marketplace, WNYC, PBS NewsHour, or any of our many other trusted newsroom partners. Now, on to today's inquiry. The Public Insight Network is based on a simple premise: Everyone has knowledge and insight to share. But when we ask people, "What's your expertise?" they often say, "I don't have any." We don't buy it. So we ask: What's your expertise? You might be an expert with the academic credentials to show for it. More likely, you've spent a good chunk of your life practicing, learning and refining a trade, a hobby or a discipline. Whether it's what you studied in college, what you do for a living, or what you think about right before bed, there's something you know. Click here, share your expertise, and tell us about something related to your work or life that you think deserves more attention. I will be distributing as any responses as possible to journalists around the country. If you feel you don't have anything to share at the moment, that's perfectly fine. Tell us a bit about yourself and we'll be able to ask you questions relevant to your experience. Lastly, we cannot do this work without your help spreading the word. Please send this note to two friends or colleagues (at least) who might be interested in sharing their insights. We want to hear their stories, too.
