Guest guest
Hi Doris, Since your puppy is young it is a good idea to go slowly as you are doing. Just so you know though, I have been pouring KT on my dogs food to moisten it more for years with only very positive results. They get Kefir for breakfast and KT on their dinner:-)) I recommend putting Kombucha in their food, rather than adding it to their water, as I believe water should be just plain water.... It is also possible to let the Kombucha ferment into vinegar, for three weeks and then use that diluted with water to rinse your dog or apply to the skin or sore spots...as long as it doesn't sting or burn. Can't say about the interaction with the meds, you could ask your vet about vinegar, basically quite similar... Guest guest
Doris, I am in the same place as you, but with a 10 1/2 year old lab mix. He just had a tumor(cancer) removed from near his anal gland. I had him on about a 1/2 cup (1/4cup morning, 1/4 cup evening) before surgery. I think the tumor was getting smaller at that time. It was also draining. I took him off kombucha while he is on antibiotics because I heard kombucha and antibiotics don't mix. Tomorrow he is back to the kombucha. The vet is thinking about chemo, but I am mixed. I lost his sister this winter and I would like to keep him a few more years, if I can keep him healthy. Good luck, n > >
Guest guest
I am also interested in this topic. I have a a dog who will be 13 soon. We just found out she is diabetic (she had all the signs like any other person....so off to the vet we went). Now I give her insulin shots everyday. I wonder if KT could regulate her she is only 7lbs. > > > I have not read about KT and pets since I have joined this group, and I > am hoping to get some advice about our puppy who is almost 5 months old. > I am hoping there is a consensus that KT is good for pets, because I > have started our puppy on 1 teaspoon a day and is now up to 1 tablespoon > a day. > > He has had a skin problem since we got him when he was 12 weeks old.
