Hi :

That is a good idea to get another Dr., no one should feel like they are being pushed aside. Pain is real, and if u feel pain in your knees there has to be a reason. That is why i would go to another dr. My son has had pain in his knees and i will have to bring this up to his dr. Thanks......Janice.

Hi Janice,

My knees started hurting me a few weeks ago. I had my surgery in June. I

have to wait until my insurence starts back up until i can find out what is

going on. I did see my dr about a mo. ago and all he said to me was come back in

2 years. I felt like i was just being pushed away. So i am going to find someone

easle to see.

I had

knee and hip pain until I got orthotics. Think about it, if your

feet are not positioned correctly due to hammer toes, weak muscles, or

muscles with excess tone, then the logical area for stress would be the

knees and hips. Many people put more pressure on the inside or

outside of the bottom of the foot, this will cause stress in the knees

and hips. An Orthotist will design you some insoles and modify your shoes

so that you stand on all your feet evenly. They can custom design and fit

an AFO (Ankle Foot Orthotics) which is a brace that you wear inside your

shoes that keeps your ankle straight, it may go up to your knee.

Janice,

I also have knee pain, in my right knee.

It began about two years ago, which was

two years after my tc surgery. Up till then,

my knees never gave my any trouble. My right

knee joint has more side to side motion than it

used to; I think that's caused by the muscles

around the knee getting weak. I had physical

therapy for it two years ago, and it helped.

Making the muscles around the knee stronger keeps

the knee from moving in ways that it was not

designed to move. I modified my exercise routine

to include an elliptical trainer machine at the

gym.

I think Rick had a good point about orthotics.

I'm going to look into getting some.
