Guest guest
I thought the same thing too. When I read the news that her child had Autism, and she had just moved, my 1st thought was she had no support. Compassion, knowledge and understanding will help us all make our children be the best they can be. Donna JackThe greatest of teachers can lead a horse to water AND make them thirsty! Guest guest
Yes, it’s very, very sad. . . .and unfortunately not the first time. There was an MD mom in Illinois about 4 years ago who suffocated her 3 year old with autism . . . . . . . The stresses can be so extreme that people can crack. . . . S. Guest guest
If you haven't listened to the 911 call, please do. Obviously, there's a lot going on that we don't know about, but I'm lacking the sympathy for this mom. I don't think she was trying to put her children out of their misery. I think this was all about her. Tough to listen to......but puts things into a different light. My heart is breaking for her family. Subject: Re: Tragedy in IrvingTo: Texas-Autism-Advocacy Date: Thursday, July 22, 2010, 10:12 PM Horrible tragedy. Maybe if all insurance companies were forced to pay a decent amount for autism treatment, then her children could have had early intervention (ABA) from a qualified BCBA. Not the local school district or ECI free stuff.Maybe if all children had access to quality therapy, then the quality of their precious little lives could be improved, and parents would be given hope and wouldn't be under so much stress and driven to the point of cruel and insane acts like this one. So very very sad.>> > > Yes, it's very, very sad. . . .and unfortunately not the first time. Guest guest
Very well said. I thought the same thing. It seems if you've got money you can get help for your kids. If you don't have money too bad so sad
