Guest guest Posted January 8, 2003 Report Share Posted January 8, 2003 Hi, My name is Marie and I just found out yesterday that I have cirrhosis. I've had Hepatitis C since 1979, when I got it through a blood transfusion. I've already been scheduled to start Peg-Intron and Rebetol next week, though I understand the chances of clearing the virus aren't as good as they were before I had the cirrhosis. I checked the Child-Pugh Scale and I'm Class A. The only thing abnormal about my blood tests is that the ALT and AST are high, around 70. No other symptoms yet. I'm still in shock because I didn't think the Hep C had progressed this far. I'm trying to learn everything I can about helping my liver. I'm looking forward to learning from everyone's experiences and to sharing any of mine that might be helpful.
