Guest guest
Hi... I am forming a new corporation that will raise funds for research and staffing in the new Autism Center that just opened at our univeristy. And I'm stumped on a name. I think we want the word Autism in the name for easier recognition by those who are not involved on day to day basis with Autism and might not catch names like DAN! or CAN. Any ideas?? Thanks
Guest guest
Will it have a biomedical focus? What are the main objectives of the new facility? Guest guest
Hi Liz.. this new center is educationally based at this time.. they just opened and are sponsored by the Univeristy and the local School system which has wonderful special needs focus and program. BUT the Director has been involved with autism for years and sees the benefits of biomedical interventions and has been revitliazed by watching the progress my little boy has made in the last few months.. all due to diet and biomedical interventions. We do not know at this time if the university can sanction such treatments through the center due to legalities but they can provide information to families and conferences to educate families and the public about the advances... to be clearninghouse for information so to speak...and that is where we are right now. They can most likely add a dietician to the staff who can deal with the diet piece and that is the next step and this will help to fund that. We hope to sponsor 2-3 conferences annually and bring in leading authorities to speak and expect to draw from several states at least for these. There is not much available in the southeast at this time and it is such a great need. Hope that answers some questions. Thanks and blessings > Will it have a biomedical focus? I'd love to see a some DAN! practitioners there, as well as dieticians, AIT, OT , etc. What about something official-sounding like ...
