Sangeeta,

CMV is in the herpes family, but I am sure you know this?

Anne,

Thanks for your reply. No I was not aware of this. None of the

research we looked at mentioned this. The only treatment for CMV is

listed as gangcyclovir which is a very risky procedure. Apparently

Valtrex is not recommended for CMV. Can you point me to reading

materials which show the link between Herpes and CMV? I'd really

appreciate that!!

Sangeeta,

While these links show that CMV is in the herpes family, none

suggests that Valtrex really is known to work against it.

Interestingly though, the last link discussed the use of Valtrex in

preventing CMV infection.

Please let us know how your son does. We will be starting Valtrex

next week.

Sangeeta,

GARLIC is said to have very potent anti-CMV properties!

If you go to Pubmed search engine, type in garlic and citomegalovirus a

number of papers showing this should pull up.

Thanks Natasa! Unfortunately my son has PST issues and can't tolerate

garlic at all. It would have been wonderful to be able to give it to

him. I'm hoping that with chelation we will be able to resolve all

the associated issues and he'll be able to eat regular food!!

Would he tolerate allitridin on its own (that is the active anti-CMV

ingredient in garlic)

Anne,

Thanks for asking. The bad mood/weepyness went away in the evening.

He has been having heavy and somewhat frequent urination (wetting

bathroom floor because he couldn't undress on time to aim in the

potty), etc. These kind of things happen to him when he is dumping a

lot of metals and/or some viruses are being stirred up. He is dumping

mercury & lead as per his last chelation report so that could be the

reason. But if it is the viruses I'm curious why it started the day

we stopped Valtrex. It's all such a puzzle!

Yes, we have been chelating with TD-DMPS for 14 months now. 4 weeks

ago we started weekly IV glutathionne. We saw some good improvements

from this addition. Then 2 weeks ago we added Valtrex. He kept on

doing well. Basically we didn't see anything different from Valtrex

in the 2 weeks he was on it. In the meantime DH was worried that the

glutathionne that we were hoping would aid in metal dumping would

instead be used to get rid of Valtrex from the body. And since we

weren't seeing any regressions/wows and our son has Herpes in normal

range, DH decided to stop the Valtrex. And that's when I posted my

concern because it looked like withdrawal symptoms to me.

So you were chelating your son the whole while on Valtrex? I am just

asking because we are trying to figure out how to handle our upcoming

addition of Valtrex to the equation. Curious again - did you see any

yeast with the Valtrex? Does your son normally have yeast with the

DMPS?

We added Nystatin a couple of days before Valtrex. My son doesn't

normally get yeast from DMPS because we use the transdermal form.

Also we are very strict about diet/sugar and also give him probiotics

regularly. His OAT was clear the last time we checked. But we added

nystatin because we were going to add Valtrex. Usually Nystatin work

well for him if/when he has a yeast flareup so we preferred that to

Diflucan.

I wouldn't stop based on high CMV and Rubeola. I also would have ridden out the

full 45

days before deciding if the Valtrex was working.

The regression from stopping is also a sign that it was helping kick something

up and/or

out in some way.

Not everyone that sees gains from Valtrex has a healing-regression. It sounded

to me like

you were on a good track. I would try again. I would start from the beginning

with 45

days of Valtrex and an antifungal.

I think it's very telling. I would get back on.

There is no withdrawls from Valtrex. And actually Valtrex may be helping

produce

glutathione in some children by improving methylation through lowering adenosine

and

other ways that we have not yet discovered. The assumption that Valtrex lowers

Glutathione is unfounded IMO. I have only seen evidence to the contrary. Your

DH have

exactly opposite thinking.

Thanks for your responses Stan. I think you misunderstood DH's

assumption about glutathione. He didn't think Valtrex would reduce

glutathionne level. He thinks that the glutathionne that we are

giving our son will be used up to detoxify Valtrex from the body as

opposed to getting used up for detoxifying metals from the body.

Maybe we'll give Valtrex another try in the summer when we don't have

to deal with school etc.

Thanks again for all your help!!
