For me, the hepatoligist told me that if I quit drinking that it might slow or stop the cirrhosis. It is a progressive disease, and from all that I've read, is usually very slow. I know that some people on here may have had someone just suddenly die from accute liver failure, but my doctor tells me that that is not how it usually happens. I can only hope that he is right. Time will tell. My meld score went down one point last blood test. I know it can fluctuate but any improvement is a welcome sign. You will have a much better idea of how sick your sister is when you find out her meld score. http://www.mayoclinic.org/meld/mayomodel6.html I wish her and you the best. I'll keep you both in my prayers. It is very disturbing to me that the UC video MaC posted the other day has a part where the speaker says that the medical community is evenly split whether tylenol is even safe. My transplant center says it is, even if you have cirrhosis. I don't know who to believe. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ It's here!
