So you will have to deall with the poo-poo issue out of town. As far as issues...My surgery was dec 6th. I had a severe bout of diarrhea about a week post op that I thought was a virus. It got better due to lomotil, which I took off and on for 3 weeks, Then they got worse when I got home. As far as gas, It only started in the last 2 weeks with a vengance....BUT I ate ice cream and that really started it off good....LOL. Don't worry about asking these type questions...Not the first bowel question and certainally not the last! in Bama http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/myhomepage/profile.html Surgery-12/6 -377.5 2/17 - 346.5 ( minus 31lbs) 01/15- 338.1 (minus 39.1lbs) 02/12-330.0 (minus 47.5 lbs)

Guest guest
Hi Tonnie! They told me not to flush the first BM, as they *had* to see it! They never went to the bathroom with me -- no way, no how! Out, out, out! Close the door! LOL Hugs and blessings, Ann

We can be 94 and almost dead, rip one off and laugh like we were at an Abbot and Costello movie. Guest guest
You are right about that. I wonder if I would of showed the nurses the time I was there for a month if I would of been able to go home. I begged and cried to Dr. Keshishian just about every day to go home. All he would say is " whats your hurry. " I believe I did that though because I was scared...figured if he didn't let me go home I was dying. Everyone was going home, eating and drinking, and I was just sitting and walking, sitting and walking, then more sitting followed by more walking(Get the idea??) Guest guest
> Okay......, I have a question for ya'll, how long after surgery did > it take for ANY sign of a " bowel issue " .... Having read the responses, I have a question....do we need to bring/wear " depends " to the hospital (or trip home) for " accidents " from the loose/runny stools? Beverly - surgery scheduled with Dr. K. (March 10th) - who thanks Sandi for asking the question
