Guest guest
Ok so I understand now that regression after starting valtrex is a good sign, but why does it happen. I mean biologically what is going on? Why do you see autistic traits that you have never seen before? If it's killing off a virus I don't understand why this happens? Stan, or anyone out there understand this?
Guest guest
Hi , Human nature makes us want to know all the details of what's going on or we get all wachy, but the reality is we only have theories right now. Some examples include: 1. Valtrex is actually kicking up a smoldering virus by starving it and then the body needs to go after it. almost like the body needs to reprioritize where methylation and sulfation energy spends its time, which causes a temporary loss in other areas. 2. Valtrex is changing methylation either directly by lowering adenosine or effecting some part of methylation that we have not discovered yet or by lowering viral activity and transferring the focus to other areas and this process causes gains in methylation and the immune system and these changes cause it to mount a defense against a newly recognized invader and/or a toxin that was previously not a priority due to methylation impairment or deficiency. What is comforting is that Valtrex is working for nice subset of kids with autism and we continue to help publicly document that here. That is an important step and one where parent involvement really has weight. Many of you have influenced your doctors to explore Valtrex and have reported to them positive results and that leads to more families learning about it. I am also encouraged to see Valtrex being discussed behind the scenes among DAN! doctors as having a role beside a herpes medicine and this a topic for the next DAN! Think Tank in Washington. Jill PhD. and Deth PhD, the parents of methylation research (if you will), both have Valtrex on their radar at this point. I don't want to jinx this, but it seems that we have some momentum in the right places to help shed light on what is really going on and how we can improve on this therapy. One of the " mistakes " that I have seen in the approach of some doctors and researchers is to find something that may help the cause and to hoard it to themselves so they can gain credit. The problem with this is that there are many good doctors and researchers whose knowledge can help take an idea to the next level. What I really wish for is that what we do here in this group helps to ultimately raise awareness and interest from researcher circles much smarter, more knowledgeable, and more resourceful than I am or we are. I see our role here as a way for parents to directly gain knowledge that can help their child and for the data and experiences that happen here to encourage doctors and researchers to look harder at what is going on with Valtrex and nasal spray MB12. What I have learned in this process is that it takes a lot of elements to be in place for doctors and researchers, even enlightened ones, to change their thinking --especially when ideas and/or evidence comes from parents. On the other hand, I think we are living in shallow minded times when the medical establishment has trained doctors and researchers to think that parents cannot affect science and medicine. This is a ridiculous claim in so many ways since many of the discoveries, which ultimately turned into scientific studies, and discoveries came from observations from parents.... the people who spend the most time working with a sick child. So, to answer your question, we don't know exactly why there is such a significant healing-regression with Valtrex, but thanks to all of the hard work of the parents and the doctors and researchers who are becoming more interested in what we are seeing I hope that we can find answers and improve on this therapy soon. In the meantime, we can work together as parents and help spread the word, help educate, and ultimately help heal as many families as we can. - Stan > > Ok so I understand now that regression after starting valtrex is a > good sign, but why does it happen.
