Guest guest
Gale, The taste is one reason we just mixed it in with my son's Kool-Aid. Supposedly inositol has a " sweet " taste so we figured it'd blend in well with the sugar in Koolaid. I was never " for sure " it was helping . He'd seem better re his OCD but then I'd wonder if perhaps he wasn't just " better " and it had nothing to do with the inositol. But those infrequent times I ran low on (would reduce dosage) or ran out of inositol, I was relieved when HE said he could tell a difference and once asked when we'd get more. For me it was like " YAY! it's working!!! " Whether it helped his OCD or just his anxiety, there was improvement for him. I still plan to go back to it when I decide to wean him off Celexa. > My daughter thought the inositol tasted fine until we got her up to about a > teaspoon. Guest guest
Cristey, I gave it to 3x day; and during any waxing/increasing OCD times, would give it 4x day on weekends. The 3x was when he got up in a.m., when I got home from work in p.m. and then at bedtime. If I felt he needed a bit more than the 3x, I just rounded the teaspoon a bit (didn't level it off). Like you, I wanted to make sure he " kept it in his system. " Thinking back, there were times he would come ask me for some too. Since you can't overdose on it, I'd give him some. > To the inositol friends: How often do you give it a day? Guest guest
Gayle, I think that the " study " about inositol for OCD was done on adults, that's where the 18 grams comes in to play. However, here's a link to a bit on it by Dr. Penzel: http://www.mvelectric.com/inositol/dr.htm I couldn't find it locally in powder form so ordered it online from iHerb. > > > My daughter thought the inositol tasted fine until we got her up to > > about a > > > teaspoon.
