My is 3 and 1/2. He has 2 older brothers who are 10 and 11. it is very hard for them. I dont have any advice, but I would also like to hear what others would have to say abou this

My 8 year old son,Jonathon,is on the autism spectrum.He was just recently diagnosed and needs further testing to finish diagnosing. He tends to be very violent at times for no reason. I have 5 other children,2 older than him. The 2 older children-ages 13 and 9 have had enough.I've tried explaining his difference to them but that doesn't seem to work.It is hard enough dealing with Jonathons' outburst,now it turns into a battle of the worlds situation.Is there anybody else that has/had other children in this position.I don't know what to do.Jenni

it sounds like that ur older kids need some of ur attention . i found

that spending one on one time has helped my kids and letting the kids

be kids..a siblings group might be some help to . there are books and dvds out there that can help explain to siblings what is happening.. ive never needed book or dvds for my older ones.

Me too, because it is very hard on Lexie who is 13 and even who is 10 and on the spectrum but HF. is LF. It is very hard on Lex most of all to have 2 of her siblings with this.

i do not have any children on the spectrum. but i do have a 21 yr old boy and a 16 and 12 yr old girls. the 16 yr old loves to baby sit.

but what if on saturdays when my hubby worked some kids that are nto on asd could come along with us? i don't hardly have money for my own so everyone would have to come preparred, and i am good at finding free and group discounts.
