Guest guest
i cant help w/ the 1st 2 things mentioned, but maybe the 3rd & the spinal tap. the muscle twitches i have a similar problem with. i call them twitches. i get them in my right thigh the most it seems & i dont know why-but i will be going to see my surgeons at TCI in a few months as a follow up to my recent surgey & i will be sure to mention it then. my twitches . . . i didnt know how to describe them, but muscles twitching is a good way to explain my problem. i had them before my surgery but seems to do it more now & when i am resting. does that sound like something you relate to? anyone for that matter? spinal taps-i believe they are also known as lumbar punctures. i have had many of those. i have only had them done at TCI & they always tell me my starting pressure bc it is very important. my last one was 36 when it should be around 15. (i cant tell you what they use to measure it with like you would measure liters, but obviously they dont measure the pressure with liters!) this tells them how high your pressure is and if you have low pressure or high pressure & can give them an idea of the problems you have & maybe how to fix it. now, the other thing i know about an lumbar puncture (LP) my docs prefer the LP to be done a certain way-they like if you are laying on your side w/ your knees bent up a certain way. you should make sure your docs specify how they want their lp's to be done. so yeah, they can measure the pressure. (sorry it took so long to answer that question! lol) i guess that is all i can answer. good luck! ~ 25, east stroudsburg, pa april '01 decompression in philadelphia feb '03 fusion/revision to decompression in the same surgery @ TCI july '03 vp shunt @ TCI jan '05 vp shunt valve replaced @ TCI 1/31/07 revision to fusion @ TCI
