Ok just a couple comments..Jo talked to me several months ago about

soda..But did I listen NOO I drink diet Dr.Pepper so wasn't to worried about

the sugar..Well the past week for some weird reason soda just didn't sound

good I was craving lemonade...I have not had a soda in 9 days and have lost

7lbs in those 9 days that is the only change I've made so it has to be the

soda guess all that sodium does more than I thought...Well thats all I have

to say for now..lol

He said flat was ok. My understanding is the reason for no sodas is that he

doesn't want the carbonation to prematurely stretch the stomach. It isn't the

soda if you drink diet, but the carbonation. Regular is carbonation AND empty

calories.

Dr. K told me that FLAT, DIET soda was OK. I've just been to lazy to let

it go flat, so haven't had more than a cap full since 14 days before

surgery.

Did he tell anyone else this?

I am with you ...If I cant drink the carbonation, why drink the

Coke... I crave the carbonation, well and of course my Coke...but

will not go back there, as I have come to far to go back now... But

I still have dreams about Coke that usually wake me up cause they

always end the same...My stomach blows up! and makes a horrible

mess...lol

so no cokes for me...

who also doesnt want to start again, cause she wont have the benefit

=========================

All true....but bare in mind that the artificial sweeteners can

cause 'sugar craving'....plus if your soda has caffeine then that can

lend a hand to dehydration...plus the caffeine interferes with with

the absorbtion of calcuim. Besides the only reason to drink soda's

is for the bubbles!
