i found this info just now from medicine net-hope it helps-DOSING:

Alprazolam (generic name of Xanax) may be taken with or without food.

Alprazolam is metabolized by the liver and excreted mainly by the

kidney. Dosages of alprazolam may need to be lowered in patients with

abnormal kidney function.

Thanks for the article. So ..I guess this is better when it is excreted by

the kidney? I am sorry if I sound dumb but I guess if you don't ask..then

you never know..
