Unsubbing is certainly your choice, Kristi, but I hope you won't.

Let me explain why:

Whether certain members' comments re: the current president are

childish or not, it's the hallmark of a democratic society that we

can call our leaders disrespectful names without fearing a knock on

the door in the middle of the night. Even if those comments are

inappropriate, I'll defend someone's right to say it.

It's a lot like the abortion debate we almost had here a few weeks

ago-- there will BE no concensus. That's life. Everyone here has

their opinion and we ALL have to strive hard to respect one another's

beliefs without compromising our own.

This is one of the challenges of living in a diverse society. And I

wouldn't have it any other way, because I learn more from people I

disagree with than I ever do from people I agree with.

Joe,

So elequently put! I thank you! It's interesting to me that the

only board that can survive discussions of government, local and

global politics, economics, religion, home schooling, home-birthing,

abortion & nutrition is RAW DAIRY.

The others just disintegrate into pettiness, empty threats, or hate.

They don't hold together. A couple times I almost pray that Sara or

Janet will step in and restore harmony, and then, we self-correct!

Does raw milk build character, give integrity, promote tolerance?

Because I have never seen the like.

I often think the archives of this board would make a great book.

All these beautiful strong voices! The title would have 'barn'

or 'barn-raising' in it. The proceeds would go toward raw milk. I

think the whole country is hungry for this meat!

We speak, we roar, we love. We drink raw milk.

Grateful to you all,

-Blair

Blair,

You are so precious. I loved your post...

*This is what the Lord says: " Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom

or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his

riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands

and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and

righteousness on earth, for in these I delight. 9:23-24

Blair, I believe it's due to the fact that each of us had to fight

the current and swim upstream toward something we knew was there but

maybe didn't know the name of. In some respect, we stopped listening

to " the authorities " because we suspected they were wrong or lying,

and sought out our own answers. This applies to seeking out raw

dairy, seeking spiritual answers, or seeking the meaning of life.

The amount of character built during this struggle is enormous!

A quote that stuck with me: " The only answers worth having are the

ones you find for yourself. " I've found this true in my life.

Doesn't matter if it's a teacher, leader, government representative,

or a deity: I do not blindly accept anything told to me anymore. I

do my own searching and come to my own conclusions, even if I do so

silently and in secret.
