Hi Judy, my name is Sharon Wilt and my 14 year old daughter has MDS. I am finally registered with the group so I would like to be part of the next chat. Also I maybe able to get you some very good advise on convention holding matters and sponsors as my son has a birth defect called Cornelia de Lange Syndrome and that syndrome group is very well organized and holds regional and national and international conventions yearly so I would be glad to ask them for help. They are a great group of people so I'm sure they will pass on info to help us. Let me know if you want me to call them for help/advise. Take care and I'll wait to hear from you. Sharon Wilt

Judy...

About the $500 needed in the U.S.... just a thought, but, if we have 100 families (which i think i read in one of your previous posts), and we need $500 dollars... how might everyone feel about donating $5 dollars? I think most of us could manage that! ;)

Just a thought,

Angel

I believe there will be more than the $500.00 involved. There probably will be lawyer fees and some, etc., fees. Other organizations like ours have a membership fee for a year like $20.00. With that amount from each family it should cover everything. Just an idea for Judy and Bree to consider. Yours truly, Sharon Wilt from Pa.

Just a thought. I know that most of the people I talk to: Doctors, School

Guidance Counselors, etc. don't know much, if anything about MDS. I was

wondering about a way to get our information to these resources. For

example: publish something in one of the professional Journals? Even an ad

to let them know where to find us. Just a thought.

Sharon (mother to Matt 6, MDS and 8)

Hi Judy, our family info for convention is 2 adults and 3 children so we will need one room with 2 double beds and a cot. Tommy is on tube feeding so if we could get refrig. in room that would be great. God Bless, Sharon Wilt and family

Thanks for that update Kristy...lol...

Judy, we're interested, too. With Jaymie's folks in

Delray Beach, it might be all 5 of us or just 3... we

might leave the two younger girls with Grammie &

Poppie and just bring to the convention.

We have no dietary restraints -- and depending on the

day, it seems, no constraints either...lol..

We're interested in EVERYthing, but will be limited by

the co$t, of course....

We're expecting to pay our own way unless one of us

has an ailing rich relative we don't know about. ;-)

Hi Judy-

Didnt see my name on the list- I know you made the announcement at the same

time was born so I probably forgot to e-mail my response. Those first few

months are a killer on the brain cells!

Anyway- count the Kugel family in.

2 adults, 4 children - we'll need two rooms, one with a crib- intersted in

Disney and attractions and will pay if needed.

Just a thought if your looking for corportate sponsors- we work for MetLife and

they do sponsor the Special Olympics- in fact we are sponsoring a soccer

tournament for Spec. Olymp tonight at the Providence Civic Center.

Question about mine.

Where is saids cot required is that the same thing as a crib??

Because that's what we'll need since the new one will be 1 yr old by

then. I was just making sure. I can't wait to see everyone there.

Judy let me know what type of things you need help with. and I

will try to help as much as a possible.

Thanx

a Phipps
