Guest guest
Hello everyone! I work as a Spanish interpreter in a hospital and our director has agreed to buy us a medical dictionary to keep in our office. (We used to have one there but it was the personal property of someone who has since removed it.) It's not something that we would need to consult frequently, nor something that we would carry around with us, but it would be nice to have in the office when we do want or need to consult something. Can anyone recommend a good, comprehensive bilingual (Spanish<->English) medical dictionary? Thanks in advance,
Guest guest
Hi , I have been using Ruiz , Diccionario de Términos Médicos, EN<>ES, which I bought YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEARS ago, and which I like because it also has definitions. I'ts particularly useful for translation into ES as the EN>ES part gives the translation AND a definition in ES, while the ES>EN part is in the nature of a glossary. Guest guest
Dear , My favorite dictionaries are: On top of the list: Navarro - Diccionario crítico de dudas Inglés-Español de Medicina Stedman bilingüe - Diccionario de Ciencias Médicas Stedman - Diccionario de Ciencias Médicas - Ilustrado. This is a Spanish dictionary only, although you will find the English translation of the terms in brackets. You must have an idea of the Spanish word in order to look it up. Mosby's Medical Dictionary Dorland - Diccionario de Medicina - Excellent, but it is a Spanish dictionary with English terms in brackets, same as Stedman. I hope this will give you an idea. Greetings from Buenos Aires! Silvia Gómez silvia@... Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to this list and also a hospital interpreter. I like the second edition Medical Dictiionary/Diccionario Médico by Onyria Herrera McElroy, Lola L. Grabb. It's not big and distinguished like some of the others, but it is completely bilingual and is remarkably complete for its size. Suzanne Suzanne Becque Translator, Spanish-English P.O.
