Guest guest
To those of you having Tethered Cord Surgery, my husband and I used 2 large waterproof bandages. We used the clear ones that are shaped like a diamond. but, any one will do. On one of them, cut the adhesive part off the short end. Put that one on first on the lower part of the incision. Then put the next bandage above that one and seal them both really good. After the shower, take off the bandages, gently blot the incision area dry. Then use Bactaid clear washing solution with cotton balls to clean off the wound and excess scabbing. Let it dry. We then used 2 small non-stick gauze pads with Neosporin w/Pain Relief on the pads and put them on the incision and secured them with Medipore Tape. This is a special hospital tape you get from medical supply stores. You can find thin tape like it at any pharmacy or Wal-Mart. It looks like cloth and is sectioned for easier tearing. When the incision was healed and the sutures were out, we just used Vitamin E oil that can be obtained at any pharmacy or health food store. This helps heal the wound and make the scarring smaller. A diet high in protein or those shakes like Boost or Ensure really help boost your body's ability to heal as well. Good luck! --------------------------------- Building a website is a piece of cake.
