Guest guest
Dr. Mercola says to put hydrogen peroxide (3% solution) in the ears when you get the flu <http://www.mercola.com/2003/dec/13/flu_vaccine.htm>. Has anyone tried this? Lynne
Guest guest
Lynne, Hydrogen Peroxide has been wonderful for me. I have bad tonsils from many infections as young child, and they still tend to get bad. I have sinus problems, ear problems, all upper respiratory problems. Many of these have subsided with the removal of my almalgams. I still have occasional problems so I drop hydrogen in my ears when they hurt, this you have to be carful with it makes you dizzy, it is best to lay down until all the hydrogen comes out, this also stings if there is an infection. I have used it as a nasal spray, works wonders for the sinuses, caution this does sting also. I have swabbed my tonsils and stopped infection in a couple of days. It really does work to fight yeast, bacteria, fungus, viruses. I always keep it on hand. My oldest daughter loved me to put it in her sore ears, worked every time. I wouldn't do this was a child with autism unless they could understand that this may be uncomfortable, but it really does work. I just buy the regular hydrogen. So, I'll try to answer your question, but please forgive me if the answer seems excessive. I've been reading about the use of hydrogen peroxide for healing/health for about 5 years. (I can recommend books and yahoo lists if you wish.) I do use 3% hydrogen peroxide in my ears, but contrary to some theories I've read, I have not found this to be a total solution to colds/flu. At least not for me. Or maybe I'm not using it " right " or enough. Who knows? But I'm sure it helps, since I'm sure it kills most anarobic pathogens. I also use it in my house for a LOT of different purposes (not just in my ears LOL). I would recommend that you experiment with the 3% in your own ears to see how it works. Bubbling is what happens when little pathogens are dying. If it is bubbling a LOT it can feel kinda weird. (If you would like a demonstration of this that you can watch, put a sponge or scrub-brush from your kitchen sink into a bowl or cup with hydrogen peroxide and watch it bubble. Or pour a little bit of hydrogen peroxide on your cutting board.....) You can also gargle with 3% to clean out some of the germs in your mouth (while you are ill or any other time). This is a topic that I think is WELL worth anyone's further attention..... Many people (including me) also associate the use of hydrogen peroxide, ozone, and hyperbaric oxygen as RELATED forms of healing/therapy (all of them relate to OXYGEN.) A few of the ways I personally use hydrogen peroxide include: in ears, gargle, brush teeth, on cuts, on cuts/wounds/abcesses on cats, to clean cutting boards, to clean kitchen and bathroom sink scrubbies etc, to clean toothbrushes, to feed plants in garden (including trees), in the bottom of compost pail in kitchen, in bath........ There are a zillion other uses..... And believe me, I can go on for pages and pages and pages..... regards, Moria Merriweather

Bubbling is what > happens when little pathogens are dying. Okay I gave it a try tonight. Interestingly, we got a LOT of bubbling in my ASD son's ears and he cried, saying it hurt. We didn't get any action in my NT daughter's ears. She also said it hurt; but since she was anxious to do it after him and imitates him (and is totally a drama queen), it's hard to know if it did. I'm going to try my ears next. I'm betting I get lots of bubbles as my inner ear is definitely my weakest point. And to continue my experiment, maybe I'll try it on my husband tomorrow. Thanks for the advice, Moria. Lynne

Yeah, I think it is generally best to use all forms of therapy on yourself first (before kids). Or, if you are in a real rush to use it with kids, then at the same time. Unless there is a good reason not to (e.g. most parents can't try chelation due to amalgam fillings). There are lots of reasons--- partly seeing how it feels, but also just the basic practical things in getting the idea of how to DO whatever it is.
