Sorry, I cannot answer these kinds of questions - we don't have enough data yet.

The study Sid Baker reported was that 200,000iu for 2 days for acute measles

infection did not mitigate the seriousness of the illness, but with 400,000iu

for two days, the infection was very mild. Measles virus is known to use up and

deplete Vitamin A - if the virus is not there, one could conceivable get into

more problems with Vitamin A toxicity giving high Vitamin A. I think I would

err in the direction of caution in a 2-1/2 year old unless you noted a strong

and obvious negative reaction from the MMR he received, and he continues to have

gut problems that are consistent with the severe inflammation that we see with

the kids with measles in their guts. Sorry I cannot be more definitive.

Dr. macandless...

Would 100,000 for 2 days kill moderately high rubeola titres... 321..

where the reference range uis 0-100. He's only 2 1/2 ... does he still need

400,000 for the first 2 days. Also what if i've already done the 100,000 for 2

days...

Just start it again; many parents are just on the maintenance dose, and

sometimes I give Chelsey days off of things, either because I forgot or

traveling got in the way, or just because I like to vary the routine and see if

it makes a difference. Of course, she is a long-time veteran; I would be less

apt to feel OK about someone just getting balanced missing a few days of an

important nutrient. Dr. JM

Dr. McCandless,

We started the mega dosing last week. We started with 300,000 and then

400,000 and then 5 drops a day. We went out of town for Memorial Day week-end

and I forgot the Vit. A. We came back today and I started her back on the 5

drops. Is this o.k. or should I stop for a few months and start all over again?

Our daughter missed Fri., Sat,.and Sun.

I put the glass vial in " safe " place and - of course - I forgot to pack it.

Thanks,

Shari
