Guest guest
We have been using Clonidine intermitently to help Sam with insomnia and night wakings. Over the past two weeks, we have had to use .1 mg every night at bed time, and on several nights we have had to use another .1 mg in the middle of the night. During the days, Sam has been a mile-a-minute hyperactive. I am wondering if anyone has experienced " rebound hyperactivity " while using Clonidine (as opposed to the hyperactivity being independent of the drug). Thanks, Shamez. ************************************************************************** The information transmitted herewith is sensitive information intended only for use by the individual or entity to which it is addressed. Guest guest
We have also used Clonidine to help Chelsey sleep, but have to use Tenex in the daytime for her hyperactivity (I don't know if it's rebound to the Clonidine - she's pretty hyper generally no matter what we do). They are similar drugs but Clonidine is more soporific. Clonidine We have been using Clonidine intermitently to help Sam with insomnia and night wakings. Guest guest
Thanks for the message. We have tried Tenex during the day as well, but have never been able to titrate the dose effectively despite lots of trying. We are either too low (no effect) or too high (sedating) and have never hit the happy medium. Guest guest
Just to add a PS to Jaquelyn's post about Clonidine and Chelsey. After being with her for six months on the Clonidine/Tenex regime, my distinct impression is that there was no rebound hyperactivity in her case. On the contrary, she was sometimes a little slow in the morning when a larger dose of Clonidine was given. Guest guest
Kanji, No, I didn't see anything such increase that I could attribute to the Clonidine/Tenex regime. there are so many variable that affect Chelsey's obsessiveness, that it's difficult to know what comes from what, but my strong sense is that the Clonidine does its job of getting her to sleep nd the Tenex is just a mild stablizing factor in her day-life.
