Guest guest
Subject: Flu epidemic I would suggest avoiding crowds as much as possible. Hopping into a hot tub or shower and soaping down after being with crowds if possible will help. Keeping water sitting around in the house or a vaporizer so lungs don't get too dehydrated when heaters are on a lot. Of course, fresh fruits and vegetables if you can get them down. Vitamin C, lauricidin, cod liver oil/Vitamin A; larch arabinogalactans is excellent and easy to go down (NF has Buffered Vit.C with Larch, and Thorne has pure Arabinex - both in powders), and DMG is a very good immune enhancer. Some of you may know some good homeopathic remedies. Jaquelyn ----- Original Message ----- Flu epidemic > Hello everyone, > With the flu outbreak, what can we do to boost our children's immunity? But I think we could all benefit from any helpful information. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Guest guest
Dr. McCandless, I would really appreciate if you could also comment on managing the flu: --I know that a fever plays an important role in killing the virus, but how high should I let it get before trying to reduce it with cold compresses? If the temp gets really high (my daughter went up to 105 yesterday), I've been told to rotate between acetaminophen and ibuprofen every 2-3 hours. Would you recommend giving acetaminophen at all? --I've heard conflicting recommendations on the anti-viral Tamiflu. Regular MD says to give it to mitigate the flu and homeopathic MD says that although Tamiflu will help to mitigate the flu in the short term, it would be better in the long term for my daughter's immune system to fight the flu on its own. What do you think? TIA, Lynne > I would suggest avoiding crowds as much as possible.
