Guest guest
I have mild chiari and syringomyelia and need to get some dental work done, which I hear can be a problem for us Chiarians. I was hoping perhaps some people out there have some wisdom to share? I have a *bunch* of fillings to get done. Also, I'm about to turn 35 and still have my upper wisdom teeth...it's what the dentists call a " complicated impaction " ...as in a specialist surgeon would have to cut into my face from the outside to remove the teeth. Nobody recommends it. It is obvious from where they are stuck right on top of my 2 back molars that there is not enough space in my skull. But nobody has recommended I get the back two (cavity laden) molars pulled and just let the wisdom teeth come in like they want to. It seems like we'd be taking care of several problems at once...I get to exchange 4 teeth with cavities for 2 teeth in perfect condition, AND I get a little more badly needed room in my skull. Or am I missing something? Are crowded teeth a common problem in Chiarians? rozanne
