Guest guest
I'm wondering if anyone has some thoughts on the issue our son is having. Last Thursday we started him on Yucca - gave him his first dose late morning (first time). By the middle of the afternoon, he was having very painful urination. The pain has continued. Other than the pain when he urinates, he acts normal and says he feels fine. Obviously, we did not give any additional doses of Yucca. Both of our doctors were out on Friday but we spoke to colleagues in their offices that had never heard of this kind of reaction. We have ruled out oxalates and a urinary tract infection. We had some additional labs run this weekend and should have the results for our doctors tomorrow. In the meantime, our poor little guy is in huge pain, and it is not getting any better. We did go to urgent care today where they ran some additional tests and they see some indication of an infection but didn't have any further feedback - but are running the additional tests. A friend was kind enough to look at the urine in her microscope and we found some things that look unusual but we can't find anything on-line that looks like these images (any website suggestions where we could try to match up our images?). We know the Yucca may be a coincidence but could it have triggered something? I would love any thoughts from those on this list - including suggestions to lessen the pain while we work through this. Thanks!
Guest guest
Sorry, the only think I can add is that we have not had this reaction to Yucca. It only helps a little towards lowering our ammonia, so even though I have used it, we now mostly use other things. My vote is that either a pathogen or the immune system got stirred up, either by the Yucca or just coincidental. Maybe someone else has a better answer. Love and prayers, Heidi N > > I'm wondering if anyone has some thoughts on the issue our son is > having. Last Thursday we started him on Yucca - gave him his first > dose late morning (first time). Guest guest
yucca is a root vegetable and has amylase which in shoemaker mold world should be avoided. i also believe that some of the root veges are high oxalate which would nail down the peeing issues and funk your are seeing under the microscope, either way, if it grows underground i cringe....too many other contaminents that can sneak into underground food...you might want to look at susan owen's Low Oxalate Work....very interesting stuff....but my 2 cents on the site (and all the vulvodynia/oxalate stuff) it goes back to mold, lyme and the pleomorphic nature of this stuff....plain and simple....maybe even more mold as that crushes the MSH levels. this is an old food oxalate list that is not entirely accurate...but yucca has been tested by susan. Â you could post a question and see if one of the girls respond. Â good site...like ours but in my opinion they are missing the major culprit. Â i'm soooooo boring and narrow minded these days!! http://www.mystillpoint.com/resourcecenter/ lisa Can't afford a new spring wardrobe? Go shopping in your closet instead!
