Guest guest
I have a friend who is traveling with her family to Russia this week to adopt. She has a 3 year old son - never vaccinated - but was concerned about him contracting Hib while they're over there, so she took him yesterday for his first ever shot to protect against it. Well, the dr. (who is not her regular dr - she lives in L.A) told her (and I'm paraphrasing) " You may have legal rights here in Texas not to vaccinate your child, but that doesn't protect your civil rights. " Basically, he told her that if her child gets another person sick with a " vaccine preventable " illness, that individual or their family can sue her because she didn't vaccinate her son. Have you ever heard such a thing??? I have not. Is this a new AAP scare/bully tactic to intimidate parents who are only exercising their legal rights?? Thanks! Bonnie J.
