My son who is 20 months old has been diagnosed with yeast infection.

Would like to hear from anyone in the list that has experience treating this

condition and what treatment they have followed.

Also interested in knowing if you have seen an improvement in behaviour, skills

or communication after the treatment is completed.

Any information will be much appreciated

Thanks

Hi,

Mine has yeast too (he's 3 years old).

First we started with dietary things (garlic, coconut, oregano) and also herbal

remedy, Biocidin, and continue to use all of these things.

We have just come to the end of 4 weeks of Nystatin, which, if you google, you

can find many amazing testimonials, but I don't think it's worked for my boy,

although from what I read, it doesn't always, or sometimes it works but then the

yeast comes back.

There are lots of books out there, although I haven't read them - Feast without

Yeast, etc.

We have tried to reduce sugar and fruit in particular but it's a balancing act.

Poos are definitely better when we cut down on fruit (which he craves) but then

he becomes prone to viruses, despite antioxidant supplements, etc.

Hiya

After Nystatin, we maintained on Enzymes (evidence that enzymes help in the

control of yeast) Candex (good for maintenance limited die off) and CP1

probiotics.

This has kept my Son yeast free (according to tests and symptoms, mouthing, the

mad giggles, spinning and scripting)for years.

He's now been taking a break for biomed to get to the route of some of his

problems (Not recommended, been on this road for 7 years, wouldn't break until

well established) and the retest (got result yesterday) shows clostridia is

immediately back in town.

Enough evidence for me, doctor clobbered, yeast treatment back in. Depends how

sensitive your son is though. What's amazing to me is how bloody quick the yeast

is to get back in its prolific.

Sorry got to add to that - we took him off biomed on Doctor's advice,

SHORT TERM (sorry for shouting) and we did an OAT test immediately on taking him

off. Clear of yeast. Then did retest a month after. In meantime all the yeast

behaviours returned, and on retest yeast markers way up. This is the only test

I really do, and it doesn't prove anything conclusively, but is a good

guideline.

Yeast thrives in an acidic body..So you may need to look for ways to alkalise his body... one way is to use a pinch of bicarb under the tongue up to three times a day.. as it is absorbed sublingually into blood stream ( better than adding to food or drink which then dliutes stomach acid and impacts on digestion.

Second is to find ways to strengthen his breathing.. if kids do not exhale properly get massive build up of carbondioxide which then converts to carbonic acid in the cells.. and this from what I understand is the most significant driver of acidity..

So whilst on any yeast stuff... in an acidic body.. yeast is killed off, however to allow body to become yeast free.. need to alkalise body. There are other ways available.. I think TST is a good therapy to support improvement of breathing.. so that kids are able to not only inhale more oxygen, but to also exhale all waste gases... (TST is The Scotson Technique.. see the separate file in the files section of this Yahoo group.

Best WishesTracey

Agree with that too Tracey, but we are finding Scotson TST is a very long term

therapy, so I would be doing biomed in the meantime. Slow and steady wins the

race but yeast gives my Son such a hard time I would be treating it

simultaneously. It interferes big time with his capacity to learn and focus.

Hopefully Scotson will eventually have the desired effect with my boy in terms

of breathing and detox. Also as long as people don't go overboard with the

bicarb, its definitely a pinch, I believe it can be toxic at higher doses.

We started with Boulardii (it's a yeast that kills other yeast) - like

everything it doesn't suit everyone - but we found it helped.

Best wishes,

Sandy

Some issues are addressed more quickly with TST.. as you say, taking out the obvious foods.. like wheat, yeast , sugars and acidic foods  and food combining to keep animal proteins separate from carbs.. and limited to lunch time.. will also help. and using biomeds..

.. Have you tried the diatomaceous earth called Diatom-x// this is good as it clears the colon so moves out build ups of parasites and yeast infections. and as the colon detoxes.. I think there is a healthier environment in which to populate healthy bacteria.

has been using it on her self.. as have I.. It definitely has a detox effect and my energy levels improved within days of taking it.. I know Sandy mentioned it a few months ago and she recorded some improvements on it too.

Best WishesTraceyOn the bicarb front it is interesting to read just how much is given as part of some of the more natural approaches to cancer therapies.. If you give too big a pinch it will make you vomit... and too big a pinch is very alkali so can create skin irritations... so a tiny pinch several times a day is a good way.
