braces? "

My daughter had MRIs with braces. Our doctor checked with the radiologist

before

ordering it. The images came out with white lines sparkling around the

teeth, and

it does affect the picture if you need to see something around that area, but

it would

not affect the brainstem area, where you need to check for Chiari.

Anything from the neck and up you can keep your rings , bra and pants ,

any others like Lumbar only jeans come off. Depends on what picture they

are taking .

I've had the same thing happen to me. It all depends on who the radiologist is

I think, because I've had this happen to me at the same facility.

On a similar note, does anyone know if you can get an MRI if you have braces?

Thanks

MRI METAL/RING/ETC?

I have had mri's before and the attendant always had me even take off

my bra and shirt/pants, and remove any metal earring/rings on my

hands , but a recent one i just had they let me keep my wedding ring

on, and my pants on that have zipper and pocket snaps on, i thought the

matal would damage the machine? or mess up the mri films?
