Dear Peck,

The ear pain could be a sign of an increase of intracranial pressure. I had

that at one time, and went to the doctor thinking I had an ear infection. This

was before I was diagnosed with Chiari. I did not have an ear or sinus

infection.

When my Cerebral Spinal Fluid (CSF) pressure is high, there I things I try to

do to reduce it. I avoid salty foods, processed meats, soft drinks, diet sodas,

products with additives like sulfites, nitrates etc, cut down on cheese...in

general reduce the sodium in my diet.

And I drink a lot of tea as a diuretic. Home brewed tea. Iced, hot, what

ever. But this does seem to help. If you don't like black tea, then a red tea

like Salada or Lipton is fine too.

I also try to keep myself well hydrated with good old water too. But tea is a

great natural diuretic, and is much lower in caffiene than coffee. Splenda as a

sweetner has not bothered me, but I stay away from Nutrasweet. Nutrasweet gives

me headaches.

Hope this helps!

Betsy
