The National PASS NetworkÕs next Parents Saturday Workshop on

accessing Social Security disability, SSI and Medicaid benefits

is coming up on November 20, 2010, from 9 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. at the

Arc of Texas, 8001 Centre Park Drive, Suite 100, Austin, Texas

78754.

Early registration is $75 per participant or $140 for both

parents if postmarked before Oct. 20. Regular registration is $85

per participant or $160 for both parents. Late registration is

$95 per participant (postmarked after Nov.13).

The Parent Saturday Workshop will provide families with a

comprehensive consumer background on how the federal disability

benefit programs work (and don't work) and how to access all the

programs; what the eligibility requirements are for all the

Social Security disability programs; how to calculate eligibility

and; how to make sure that you receive the full amount of your

SSI eligibility--and much, much more.

You will learn how to make sure Social Security pays the full

amount of SSI (most SSI recipients only get 2/3 of SSI

entitlement). You will learn how to advocate positively for

benefits for your child with denial-oriented SSA claims

representatives. We work to help make you an expert parent

The parents workshop is presented by longtime national disability

benefit advocate Scarborough. His 28 years of advocacy

experience shows in his easy-to-understand, non-technical

presentation style that emphasizes a person-first, consumer

empowerment approach to understanding and accessing the
