Guest guest
Is lead still allowed in trucks or something or is it in older model cars?? I am far off the road thankfully, nice and quiet here, on a cul-de-sac. However my house is close to the street but not too much traffic on it, just the houses that live here. Most people drive late model cars for most part. I am across from a private airport though, Lunken. Glenn flies his private plane in there and others private planes. I would guess not too much pollution from that though. This house is up on a hilltop so I would think it would blow away more than in a valley anyway. I'll tell you what my water tests turn up. My doctor says his lead levels are high also and he undergoes chelation now and then. He is a pilot in his spare time and thinks he gets it spending alot of time at the airports. I hardly ever fly, even as a passenger though so not the source for me. Guest guest
Barb, Any physician that uses chelation as prophylaxis should really be reevaluated since that use is specifically illegal under 29 CRF 1926.62. You just don’t go and chelate yourself after exposure, what a dangerous and bizarre use of medicine. Guest guest
Well, I don't think she would consider it prophylaxis since she did a urine test on me and found my lead level to be 26, units are a symbol not on my keyboard or if it is there I can't find it, then g/g. Lab sent a pamphlet along with it on chelation by IV but my doctor is suggesting EDTA orally and suggesting a very low dose as she said it will work slower but be easier on my body. Guest guest
Barb, What your doctor suggests is not only stupid, it is dangerous. I am not suggesting that his recommendations to you are wrong. I am not a physician would not consider offering you medical advise. You need to be responsible for that gig. (Please get a second opinion.) My statement was in regard to this: You stated that your doctor gets chelation therapy every now and again because he is exposed to high levels of lead in his aviation fuel. First, he shouldn’t be getting exposed to fuel vapors unless something is wrong with his plane. Second, if he is, he should eliminate the exposure and not rely on chelation drugs to fix his problem. If an employer did that to his employees he might end up in jail. This is certainly against the literature coming from CDC, EPA, OSHA, and HUD. To the best of my knowledge most chelation is done in children and not in adults. The cure is more toxic than the problem in many cases. The use of chelation in adults as I understand it is rare. Check it out for yourself. I’ve already given you one resource. If you look there are others. Don’t listen to me or to him. Be suspect of everything you read here because there is often as much myth as fact in what people suggest.
