I took this to mean that is saying the government takes our money

promptly (when it taxes us) but likes to hold onto it as long as they can

(when they pay us a benefit).

Yes, that is what I meant. Sorry for any confusion. I can let go of

a lot of things but my cynicism towards our government will be with

me always!

Thanks to all for the info on applying for disability! I don't need

it yet, but I'm sure I will at some time.

I finished my combo treatment (peg-Interferon plus Ribavirin) for

Hep C in May and I didn't clear the virus, but that's OK, for now

anyway!

I am kinda fighting with my healthcare provider (Kaiser) about

getting into a trial that is looking at lower dose (about 1/3rd

strength) Interferon mono-therapy greatly reducing the chances of

liver cancer. They said (the Hep C RN) " Oh, that is only open to

people with cirrhosis " Hello, don't you bother to look at my records

to see that I do have it before you make these kind of decisions? My

fear that I will get cancer before I get bad enough for a

transplant. Oh is my cynicism towards HMO's showing as well? :o)

At least my primary physician is cool. He isn't a liver specialist

and he doesn't pretend to be. He knows that I have armed myself with

knowledge and he asks me what he can do for me. That makes things so

much easier.

Thanks to all for your wonderful support and my prayers are with you!

Hi Chris! I know what ya mean about the gvt. I am sorry to hear the tx didnt

clear the HepC for you. My docs said I wasnt a good canidate for the tx, as I

suffer with depression and min is the hardest to treat 1a. Have you ever

checked out hep neighborhood? That site is cool. I was fearful of cancer as

well, and had a liver ultra sound a few weeks ago-it was clear, and it helped

ease my mind.. Have you been able to have one done yet? Praying for you, huggs,

Jodoco please keep us posted on how you are progressing.
