Guest guest
Hi Abijan (Is that your name?) My hepetologist is the one that told me that I can take up to 3000 mg of vicodin a day without damaging my liver. I did see him last. He said that the 2-3 I take a day would be ok. I don't take anything else. I do take elivel to help me relax at night. I am very high anxiety. I will call him if the abodomen gets anymore uncomfortable. I see him again on the 20th as well as my rhuemy. I have a doppler ultrasound on the 17th. My doctors are all in the same building and I have been going there for 4 years, almost 5 and they all share my charts so everything that has been done there, they can all look at. Even my lab is in the same building. I go to a pretty well renowned clinic/hospital-Loma University hospital in Loma CA. Anyway, he looked at my last ultrasound which my rhuemy ordered 3 years ago and my liver was enlarged then. My other disease (polymyositis) complicated it for awhile because liver enzymes go up when muscles enzymes go up so they thought the increase was due to the muscle inflamation. Now, we know that wasn't true.... I am anxious to here the results of my tests. The one I can remember that he ordered was the AMA. Thanks for all the info. Guest guest
>Thank you! Yes, doctors can keep you alive longer but in my Dad's case, there was no way to save him and he wanted to die with dignity at home. He lost some of his senses being he had brain cancer but at his 71st bday, a week before his death, he held his latest grandbaby (with my mom's help) and kissed his head and said 'he's a keeper'! He was in a hospital bed in the living room right where his recliner had been so he could see people walking up the sidewalk and out into the common grassy area. He was just where he wanted to be and he was buried where he wished, near the old church where he grew up and was married in. I know he would have been so happy. I am with my Dad on that. I don't want to be kept alive if it is just for the sake of being alive. I don't want artificial means, I don't want to be kept alive in a coma for 12 years like my great aunt....I just don't want to be a burdon on anyone. Guest guest
Abijan...I wish your husband the very best and will keep him in my prayers. Lots of prayers go out for you to, because I can't even imagine what you must go thru. Sometimes I wish I could take the pain of my illness away from my loved ones. Just know that we're all thinking of you and let us know how all comes out. Ginger
