Emmanuelle,

It appears to me to be explained in the text:'patients perceive it as......' .

I don't know if you could use the expression 'faire du shopping' in French, too

(- maybe that will seem a shocking suggestion to anyone French?, or maybe it

doesn't work in this context). It sounds quite colloquial in English, and the

author is coining a phrase (as you can't really find health in shops).

Bonjour Emmanuelle,

Dans le monde médical (je suis médecin), on parle aussi en français

de " shopping médical " quand le patient, utilisant sa liberté de

choix concernant le médecin qui le soigne, soit change constamment

de médecin, ou soit se tourne vers différents types de médecines

alternatives, comme expliqué dans votre article.

On dit alors que le patient " fait du shopping médical " (c'est une

expression très courante dans la profession).

J'espère que ceci pourra peut-être vous aider...

Bonne journée,

Kim Binon
