It wasn't the cholestrol.<br><br>If you are eating a lot of food with fats, then you need to cut that down. You are going to facing two issues involving your liver and your kidneys. Kidney's need protein to survive. Your liver will be over worked if you eat the standard daily allowance of protein, which could do harm to your liver.<br><br>Medication could cure your liver problems, but nothing will cause a reversal of the cirrhosis. What you have to do, is halt the progression of your cirrhosis, and it's a matter of which drug will work the best for you.<br><br>Oh yes, going back to the protein. I've had a consultation with a kidney transplant doctor, and posed the protein question to him. He said that's a catch-22 as I have described it. He recommended that 90 grams of Protein is sufficient to allow the kidney's to function, and still not overwork the liver.<br><br>I do take Milk Thistle, but all my doctors don't understand herbal medicines, just that a lot of their patients said that they feel better after taking Milk Thistle. I have my own theory why Milk Thistle works, and there is one clinical study out of Germany where it has helps liver patients.<br><br>But I'm placing my bet on the medication that I am taking. It works with no side effects.<br><br>Oh yes, my gall bladder is out too. When they took out my gall bladder, that was when the surgeon saw my cirrhosis. thankgoodness for small favors.
